Jody Herring The Blame Game

In season 12, episode 6, the murder of Julie
Falzarano and her cousins Regina and Rhonda Herring, and social worker Lara Sobel by Jody Herring is shown. The show is titled The Blame Game and Discovery ID's Deadly Women describes as Some women can't admit their failings and point the finger of blame at others..

Jody Herring was pleads guilty to one count of first-degree murder and three counts of second-degree murder with and sentenced to Life without. She is not eligible for release

She was insensed for losing custody of her children. She claimed in her appeal that her past trauma and resulting anxiety should have been mitigating factors in her sentencing and lost. According to the state, prior to the killings, shetold her family "they better stop calling” the Department for Children and Families (DCF) or they would  be “fucking sorry.” That afternoon, defendant went to their home armed with a rifle. She entered the house and intentionally shot and killed her cousins Rhonda and Regina Herring and aunt Julie Falzarano. She called her brother Dwayne Herring several times and left two messages. One said,“If you think anything of your sister, you’ll get a hold of me now” or words to that effect. The next said, “Watch the news—you’ll wish you got a hold of me earlier.” After that, defendant parked her car behind the building where she knew the DCF office was located. She waited until she saw Lara Sobel exit the building. Lara Sobel was a DCF employee who, in her professional capacity, had been working with defendant. Defendant approached and intentionally shot her. Defendant then dropped the rifle. She did not resist arrest.

All of the above is alarming, because she likely sees her children as her possessions or objects. How dare anyone question what she does with them. If it was pure rage or anxiety, she would not have immediately dropped the weapon. That's self preservation and cool thinking.

Comments

  1. It's crazy she killed all those people then laid the gun down so she was no threat to the police. Shows how diabolical she truly is.

  2. Exactly. She was of mind enough to not want to be killed herself.

  3. This case bothers me tremendously. I blog a ton about murders (think all the popular crime shows). She did what she did and laid the damn gun down. She didn't care bout her kids at all. This is probably one of the coldest murders I've ever seen.
