In season 2, episode 6, one sees the murder of Justin Dalton Thomas and Shelby Alexis Riggs by Christina Marie Riggs in Missouri. The show is titled Twisted Minds and Discovery ID describes it as, “In Pennsylvania, a mentally disturbed woman opens fire on shoppers at a mall; depression drives a woman to smother her children to death; a Florida nurse murders 12 nursing home residents” Completely tragic misuse of the justice system. The only reason Christina survived her attempt is because her mother found her. Had she gone any longer, she would have died. This was not a weak attempt to commit suicide. She was sentenced to death, despite this, and kept alive for the state to kill her. Christina Marie Riggs was convicted of 2 counts of Murder and sentenced to Death.
