Gina Grant was sentenced to 1 year in juvenile detention, with supervision until the age of 18.

Gina bludgeoned her mother 13 times with a crystal candlestick, crushing her skull and cleaned up the crime scene. Harvard rejected her admission due to the crime. Her mother was allegedly an abusive parent who was also an alcoholic.

At the end of the day, if you do not learn to be aware of family dynamics of otherfrom this, you never will. Children have limits as to what they  can endure, most leave at the first opportunity, but some will eventually snap. Clearly the abuse was likely or she would have been given a much longer sentence.
