She killed to gain custody of her niece. It seems unlikely that anyone brings the girl to visit her in prison. Like a million other murders, the one reason why you kill, is the first thing you lose when you do so.

Her parents forced her to end the relationship as it was interfering with her studies. Connie Leung and Eric Louissant pleaded guilty to 2nd degree murder and were sentenced to 30 years to life.
