Connie Sanders-Ford Mid Life Murder

In season 11, episode 1, the murder of her married lover, John Jordan by Connie Sanders-Ford is shown. The show is titled Mid Life Murder and Discovery ID's Deadly Women describes it as An examination of women who refuse to grow old gracefully, committing murder in midlife..

Connie Sanders-Ford was convicted of 1st Degree Murder and sentenced to life without parole. She is not eligible for release.

He ended the relationship, so she ended him after stalking him relentlessly. John felt bad about cheating on his wife and ended the affair which set his murder in motion.

Victim’s wife was fixing supper at home when Defendant walked in, introduced 1 We summarize facts as we must view them, in the light most favorable to the verdict. herself, said she and Victim had “been having an affair for over a year” and “I’m here to tell you so that he can leave you,” called Victim’s wife “pathetic,” then spent the next month trying to break up the marriage:  

 •Defendant repeatedly returned to Victim’s home to make trouble.  Once the police had to be called to get her to leave. •Defendant stalked Victim’s wife at her job, her home, and on the streets.Victim’s wife drove to the sheriff’s office on one occasion and Defendant followed her inside.

•Defendant offered Victim’s  adult son  a  financial  incentive  to  convince Victim to  abandon  the  marriage.    When the  son  refused  and  told  Defendant  to  leave  them  alone,  Defendant  threatened  to  shoot  Victim and herself.

•Defendant went to the son’s house, argued with Victim, and pulled a gun, which Victim took away from her.

•Defendant threatened  to  “destroy”  Victim’s  family by  telling  the whole town about  the  affair,  then went  to  the  local  newspaper  and  angrily  demanded that a story be written about Victim.

•While Victim’s wife was at the courthouse seeking an order of protection, Defendant  approached  and  handed  her  a  purported  “love  contract” between Defendant and Victim.


•Defendant  called  Victim  and threatened  to  shoot  herself  because  he  would  not  leave  his  wife.    Victim  then heard  a  gunshot,  hung  up,  and  called 911.  Police found Defendant at the cemetery, lying near grave plots owned by Victim and his wife.

In season 10, episode 10, the murder of Anthony "Tony" Wojcik by Patricia Silberstein is shown. The show is titled DIY Burial and Discovery ID's Deadly Women describes as An aspiring Olympic equestrian finds a solution to her financial woes; a young divorcee decides to get rid of her ex-husband for good; a greedy woman sets her eyes on a wealthy widower for her next victim.. Patricia Silberstein was Convicted of 1st Degree Murder with and sentenced to 22 years, 7 months, and 6 days. Later, she is given a 15-year sentence, which she serves, and dies three years after her release. This crime occurred in 1977, she is released 1991 and dies in 1994. At the end of the day, if you do not learn that murder is never the answer from this, you never will.

Sylvia Seegrist, Twisted Minds

In season 2, episode 6, one sees the murder three people, and the wounding of 7 others by Sylvia Seegrist in Pennsylvania. The show is titled Twisted Minds and Discovery ID describes it as, “In Pennsylvania, a mentally disturbed woman opens fire on shoppers at a mall; depression drives a woman to smother her children to death; a Florida nurse murders 12 nursing home residents” She was found guilty but insane at the time of her trial. She suffered from schizophrenia from an early age and had been sexually abused by her grandfather. Sylvia Seegrist was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences and seven consecutive 10-year terms. She is not eligible for parole.
